- What age can a dog begin training?
- We accept students starting at about 14 weeks of age.
- What behavioral problems can your training programs fix?
- Jumping on people, play biting, destructive chewing, getting on the furniture, nuisance barking, and housebreaking are a few of the behavioral problems that we successfully deal with on a daily basis. There are a few problems, like human aggression, that may require special training, but the vast majority of behavioral problems can be remedied by any of our training programs.
- We have more than one dog. Does that make a difference?
- Obedience training for dogs from multi-dog families is our specialty. We can do train one or all of your dogs. If you choose to have us train more than one dog at the same time, we offer a multi-dog discount. Give us a call to discuss your specific situation and pricing.
- What do you suggest for a dog who is obedient at home, but ignores us when distracted?
- Almost all the dog owners have a dog that listens when there's nothing better to do. There is a big difference between a dog knowing “how” to do something (like coming when called) and a dog knowing that he “must” listen when given a command. This is a fundamental part of all our training programs -- teaching the dog that obedience is not optional. You can read more about this concept on our training philosophy page.
- Can you help with dogs who are aggressive toward other dogs during walks?
- Animal aggression on walks is much more common than you might think. We probably get a call a week from people whose dogs exhibit this behavior. In most cases we can fix this issue with ease.
- Do you work with older dogs?
- Absolutely. When we say “Any Age, Any Breed, Any Problem” we mean it. We have successfully worked with dogs over nine years of age. Regardless of age, we can help you with your dog.
- What is your refund policy?
- We offer a 100% money back guarantee for people who complete our training program. There are absolutely no refunds issued outside of that policy.
- How do the lessons for owners work?
- The training program includes three lessons for the owner. You’ll get one lesson per week for three weeks. All lessons except the one in which you pick your dog up will be given by Zoom. Attending your three lessons as originally scheduled is mandatory. Due to constraints imposed by the pandemic we are not able to reschedule lessons.
- Is it true that certain breeds, like Beagles, can't be trained to be reliable off-leash?
- It's nonsense. There are several breeds that are reputed to be “untrainable.” Nothing could be further from the truth. We’ve successfully trained everything from hounds and terriers to wolf-hybrids. At the risk of sounding redundant, Any Breed, Any Age, Any Problem: We can train your dog.
- If we wanted to drop our dog off for training, when could we get started?
